FRIENDS FOR LIFE Companionship through pet ownership, while saving the lives of companion animals
The Mission Cats Foundation (MCF) is a 501 (c)(3) public charity whose mission is to maintain the companionship to senior citizens, economically-disadvantaged, disabled, and homeless individuals through pet ownership, while saving the lives of companion animals; animals which might otherwise be destroyed due to lack of appropriate resources, homes, and care limitations.
The program officailly began in 2022. It started in 2009 with Mission Cats, a cat “only” boarding and pet sitting operation in San Francisco, California. Since then, Mission Cats has seen great success and has grown to make Mission Cats Foundation an official non-profit program.
What We Do
The Mission Cats Foundation helps qualifiying senior citizens, economically-disadvantaged, disabled and homeless individuals with pet care services, veterinary services, and other pet care support at no cost. MCF programs would also include funding for shelter programs that cover veterinary services, retention services, food shortage support, and other services for qualifying animal guardians. MCF program funding is implemented through a certified MCF partner shelter and includes routine veterinary care, surgery, food, home visits and grooming.
Research shows the most serious disease for older persons is not cancer or heart disease – it is loneliness. Pets offer affection, unconditional love, fight loneliness, and can help ease the loss of a loved one. Please help. Your monetary donation can make a difference. Few causes can have the potential benefits that will result from your contribution – you not only save the life of an animal, you can make a dramatic difference in the life of a senior citizen, economically-disadvantaged, disabled and homeless individual. With additional funding, MCF would be able to expand the program to eventually include more counties around the Bay area.
