FRIENDS FOR LIFE Companionship through pet ownership, while saving the lives of companion animals
OUR MISSION
The Mission Cats Foundation (MCF) is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) public charity dedicated to providing companionship and support to senior citizens, economically-disadvantaged, disabled, and homeless individuals through pet ownership. Our mission is not only to improve the lives of people, but also to save the lives of companion animals who may otherwise face limited resources, lack of homes, and be at risk of euthanasia.
Our journey began in 2009 with Mission Cats, a cat-only boarding and pet sitting operation in San Francisco, California. Our success led us to expand our reach and create the Mission Cats Foundation, officially established in 2022. We strive to provide essential pet care services, veterinary services, and other pet care support at no cost to qualified individuals. MCF programs also offer funding for shelter programs that cover veterinary services, retention services, food shortage support, and other services for qualifying animal guardians. Our funding is implemented through a certified MCF partner shelter and includes routine veterinary care, surgery, food, home visits, and grooming.
Research has shown that loneliness is one of the most serious diseases for older persons, even more so than cancer or heart disease. Pets provide affection, unconditional love, and can help ease the loss of a loved one, combating loneliness. We urge you to help us in our mission to make a difference. Your monetary donation has the potential to save the life of an animal and make a dramatic difference in the life of a senior citizen, economically-disadvantaged, disabled, or homeless individual. With additional funding, we can expand our program to include more counties around the Bay area and beyond.
We urgently appeal to your generosity to help us continue our mission. Few causes have the potential benefits that result from your contribution. By supporting us, you are not only making a difference in the life of an animal, but also in the life of a person.
